JAMES MARONEY

James Maroney, 78, of Nevada, died at his home Sturday, March 24, 1984.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada with Ft. James Supple of St. Patrick's Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

James Maroney was born on Oct. 4, 1905, to Charles and Elizabeth (Green) Maroney in Nevada. He attended the Nevada Schools.

Mr. Maroney married Laura Quam on Dec. 27, 1924, in Boone. He lived his lifetime in Nevada, and worked in construction as a heavy machine operator.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; one son, Donald James Maroney of Ames; one brother, Tom Maroney of Boone; tow sisters, Elizabeth Rhoads of Michigan and Carlene Thompson of Dexter; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

A Christian wake service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 26, at the Ryan Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening.
