LAURENCE M. TOMS

Laurence M. Toms, 83, of Nevada, died Thursday, May 24, 1984, at the Story County Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at the Ryan Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest Larson of the Nevada United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Laurence Toms was born on Aug. 22, 1899, to Marston and Emma (Dawson) Toms in Nevada. He was educated in the Nevada Schools. Mr. Toms was a horticulturist, a member of the United Methodist Church and lifelong resident of Story County.

On Oct. 5, 1929, he was married to Margaret I. Larson at the Little Brown Church near Nashua. Mr. Toms is survived by his wife; one son, William "Bill" Toms of Minneapolis, Minn.; one brother, Ted Toms of Ames; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Kyle of Ames; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
