Clarence Bruce

Clarence Ulysses Bruce, 96 of Nevada died on January 24, 2005 at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada. The family will receive friend on Saturday, January 29 from 1-3:00 P.M. at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Private burial of the cremains will be at a later date.

Clarence was born on November 1, 1908 in Sedalia, Missouri to Ulysses and Eltha (Estes) Bruce. He was a graduate of Smith Cotton High School and attended Central Business College. On December 6, 1932, he married Billie O. Lusk in Liberty, Missouri. Clarence owned and operated Bruce Body Shop until his retirement in 1973.

Clarence is survived by a son, Steve Bruce of Des Moines; a daughter, Bonny Callahan of Ames; 4 grandchildren, John, Morgan, Jacob and Madeline; and 1 great grandchild.

Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Billie on February 9, 1994, a grandson, Pat on October 28, 1995, a brother George Bruce and a sister Ethel Bruce.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the arrangements.
