LAURA MARGARET McGEE

Laura Margaret McGee, 95, formerly of Nevada IA, died Saturday, March 12, 1988, at North Grand Care Center in Ames IA.

She was born April 14, 1892 at Hawkeye IA to Ernest J. Dietel and Margaretha Peetz.

She graduated from high school and received her registered nurse training at the Iowa Sanitarium in Nevada IA.

She was married to Lloyd E. McGee on Dec. 23, 1922, in Iowa.

Mrs. McGee had lived at Hawkeye and Nevada IA, and had lived in Ames the last eight years.

She was a homemaker and registered nurse and had worked at the Iowa Sanitarium and Story County Hospital in Nevada.

She was a member of the Nevada Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy., Nevada, with Pastor Charles Dye of the Nevada Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Interment will be in Nevada cemetery, Nevada.

Mrs. McGee's survivors include a sister, Ruth Venen of Paradise CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd, on Feb. 26, 1985; five brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
