Mrs. M. Riley, Nevada, Is Dead

Mrs. Mattie F. Riley, 73, Nevada, died Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Story County Hospital. She was an employee of the hospital and entered Monday as a patient.

Born at Alton, Kan., she came to Nevada in 1926 as a licensed nurse and worked at the Iowa Sanitarium until it burned. She then became an employee of Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.

With the opening of the new Story County Hospital in Nevada, she became executive housekeeper; a job she held until her death.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Nevada, the Nevada Women's Club and the Relief Corps.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Grant McIntosh, Ames; three grandchildren, Sandra, Ana nd Tom McIntosh, Ames; two sisters, Mrs. Maxine Briggs, Iowa Falls and Mrs. May Deeds, San Jose, Calif.; and three nieces and three nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home, with the Elder Owen P. Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
