Funeral services for William Henry Handsaker, who passed away Wednesday night, highly respected Story county resident, who was born in Story County 82 years ago and had lived his entire life in Story county, were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Nevada Methodist church with the Reverend O. E. Cooley officiating.

Mrs. Norman C. Dobson was at the organ playing appropriate selections. The casket bearers were Karl H. Cessna, Fred W. Nelson, R. A. Davis, W. H. Harlan, Gus Ludwig and Earl McCord. Committal was in the Nevada cemetery.

Mr. Handsaker, member of a prominent Story county family was for many years actively identified with Story County's agricultural advancement and was ever ready to promote activities for the good of the community.

The following brief life history was read by Rev. Cooley who also paid high tribute to the exemplary life of the deceased.

"William Henry Handsaker, son of William and Emily Handsaker was born Jan. 15, 1864 in Story county, Iowa. On Feb. 4, 1891, he was united in marriage to Jennie Clara Shammo. To this union one son, Chas. W. of Ogden, Utah, was born.

"Mr. Handsaker spent his entire life in Story county. His active life was spent on a farm and for many years was one of Story county's progressive farmers. Some years ago he retired to the town of Nevada and was living here, when about ten years ago, he suffered a serious accident, from which he never fully recovered.

"Mr. Handsaker leaves besides his son, five grand children, Mrs. Laura Sherman of Maxwell, William and Richard of Ogden, Utah, Charles of New York City and Fred of Watsonvile, Calif.

"Mr. Handsaker had four brothers John David, Harvey and Greeley. He leaves two sister Mrs. Nona Hines and Mrs. Sabina Day both of Nevada.

"Mr. Handsaker was for many years an active member of Nevada Methodist church and attended regularly as long as he was able."
