Christian Kilcher was born in Colmer, France, March 26, 1854. He came with his parents to America when he was 1 1/2 years of age, settling in Illinois. The family later came to Iowa where they located on a farm in Winneshiek. In 1880 on was married to Anna Dietel to which union two children were born, one of whom survives the father. Mr. Kilcher laid his companion to rest in 1887. It was in 1889 that he married Minnie E. Belchner, who has bee a faithful and devoted wife through all the years that have come and gone. To this home two children were born, Edna and Clarence. The Third Angel's Message came to our brother in 1895 and he has since been an untiring servant of his blessed Lord. In 1915, on account of failing health, he left his farm and moved to Nevada where he passed away Sabbath morning, August 27. Besides the immediate relatives of the family, tow grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters mourn their loss. Services were conducted from the Seventh-day Adventist church at Nevada, the writer being assisted by Elders Hicks and Dorcas. Interment was made at the Nevada cemetery, and we believe that he sleeps in Jesus and will come forth at the call of the Life-giver on the morning of the great resurrection.
