Shirley Bauer, formerly of Nevada, dies Thursday afternoon

A former Nevada resident, Mrs. Shirley (Ed) Bauer, 93, died Thursday afternoon at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Zearing. She had been ill for the past few years.

Funeral services will be held from the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with burial in the Nevada Cemetery.

Born Nov. 11, 1883 in Nodaway, Ia. to Charles and Katherine Curtis, she lived in Nevada for 23 years.

Survivors include one son, Curtis Bauer of Zearing; one grandson; one grand daughter; a niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her husband, Edward, who died in 1971.
