Shurden Sampson died Wednesday

Shurden R. Sampson, 61, 1229 Fourth St., Nevada, died Wednesday evening at the Story County Hospital where he had been admitted a short time earlier.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada, with the Rev. Harry Mykelbust officiating. Burial will be in in the Nevada Cemetery.

Born Dec. 1, 1908 at McCallsburg, Mr. Sampson had been a resident of Story County throughout his life. He was employed by Iowa State University.

Mr. Sampson belonged to the Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada.

Survivors include his mother, Sadie Sampson; two brothers, James, Cambridge and Jesse, Riverside, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Ora Nelson of Vista, Calif., Mrs. Edna Thompson of Kelley, Mrs. Marie Miller of Calinesa, Calif. and Mrs. Joyce Bennett, Gillette, Wyo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sam T. Sampson; a sister, and his wife, Velma, who died in 1967.

Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada until noon Saturday.
