Charles E. (Buster) Stowe, 69, of 805 D Ave., Nevada IA, died Friday, April 3, 1987 at Story County Hospital, Nevada, after a gallant three year fight with cancer.

He was born near Fernald IA Oct 4, 1917, to Harry E. and Haxel Toot Stowe. He graduated from Cambridge IA High School in 1937.

On March 10, 1938, he was married to Marjorie Elliott.

Mr. Stowe was employed as a signal maintainer by the Rock Island Railroad for nearly 30 years.
He was a member of the United Methodist of Nevada, Order of Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge No. 99 of Nevada and Des Moines Consistory.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie and three children, Larry of Bemidji MN, Duane of Dakota City NE and Charlene Olson of Nevada; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two brothers, Gaylord of Nevada and Dale of Clinton OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were Monday, April 6, at 10;30 a.m., at the Nevada United Methodist Church with Rev William Ballard officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.

Chet Ryan Mortuary, 5th St. and G Ave., was in charge of arrangements.
