MARGARET LUCILLE DAWSON
Margaret Lucille Dawson, 79, of 1210 K. Ave., Nevada, Ia., died Saturday, June 9, 1984, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames, Ia.
She was born June 9, 1905 at Allison, Ia., to August J. and Nelle Scott Froning. She attended Sheffield Schools and graduated from the Webster City High School and attended nursing training in Sioux Falls, S.D.
She was married to Leland S. Dawson on March 7, 1926, at the Methodist parsonage, Aurelia, Ia. They farmed in the Aurelia community until 1934 when they purchased a grain elevator in Gilbert, Ia. Then in 1950 they purchased the elevator in Nevada known as the Dawson Elevator Co.
Mrs. Dawson was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Nevada chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Dawson, of Nevada; a son Robert Dawson, Nevada; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was one of a family of eleven children. She was preceded in death by one grandchild; six brothers, Art, Alfred, August, Lonsdale, Robert and Richard Froning; four sisters, Ollis DeVoe, Pearl Rawson, Nell Hill and Grace Brandt, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 12, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Nevada with Rev. Ernest Larson officiating. Interment will be in Nevada City Cemetery. Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial fund has been established.
