Peter Weeden, 67, died at Iowa sanitarium Sunday night following a week's illness. He had submitted to an operation of gangreneous appendix on Friday afternoon and since that time his condition had been realized as critical.

The deceased who had spent much of his time during the past few years in Nevada, assisting his brother, O. E. Weeden, in conducting the Story hotel, had a rather wide acquaintance over the state through his 18 years spent as custodian of the Grant club in Des Moines, as well as long contact with the hotel business in Iowa.

A native of Westergotland, Sweden, where he was born October 10, 1866, he came to American when about 18 years of age and had been for the most of his time here connected with the hotel business. He had been in business at both State Center and Grinnell and for the psst few years has divided his time between traveling and assisting Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Weeden at the Story hotel in Nevada.

He was a man of kindly disposition thoughtful and tasteful in his contact with the public, had formed many warm friendships with the public.

Peter Weeden had never married and leaves only his brothers, Alfred Weeden of Clinton and O. E. Weeden of Nevada.
