Dolores J. Smith
Feb. 9, 1927 to Jan. 3, 2002

Dolores J. Smith, 74, of Green Valley, Ariz., formerly of Nevada, died from complications of surgery on Thursday, Jan. 3 in Kalispell, Mont.

She was born on Feb. 9, 1927, in Wasco, Calif., to Pete H. and Mary (Penner) Martins. She attended Walla Walla College in College Place, Wash., and married Marvin C. Smith, Jr. on Dec. 6, 1945, in Fresno, Calif. She was a homemaker and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed music, gardening and cooking. She moved from Nevada to Arizona in 1997.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin C. Smith III of Nevada and Ted A. Smith of Holstein; tow daughters, Merrie Lynn Williams of Apopka, Fla., and Jennifer R. Cannell of Galt, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her companion Matt Crawford of Dayton, Mont.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 11, from 6-8 p.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Private burial of the cremains will be held in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
