E. B. Clarke, Colo, Dies of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
Colo, Iowa, April 5, Special:
The community was shocked Wednesday afternoon to hear that E. B. Clarke had been found by his wife in their garage, dead from carbon monoxide poisoning or a hear attack. He had been at work on his car and the car was running and the room was filled with smoke and gas fumes, when his wife went to look for him. The family had only been living in their home in south Colo since the first of March, after a two years residence in Nevada.Mr. Clarke was a native of England but had come to the United States when but a boy and was 66 years old at the time of his death. Besides his wife he leaves three sons and five daughters and several grandchildren. The sons are Sidney of Mechanicsville, Charles of Long Beach, Calif., and Clarence at home. The daughters are Mrs. Mary Boots of Morley, Mrs. Albert Russell of Mechanicsville, Mrs. Ruth Bickerstaff of Morley and Bernice and Edith at home.
The funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Nevada Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. C. E. Lookingbill of Des Moines in charge assisted by Rev. Lawton of Nevada and Rev. Schuerman of Maxwell. Masonic ritualistic services were held at the Nevada cemetery where interment was made.
