Imogene L. Kitchen
July 18, 1995-July 12, 1991Imogene L. Kitchen, 85, of Ames died of cancer Friday at Story County Long Term Care Facility in Nevada.
She was born July 18, 1905 in Nevada to Louis and Agnes Young Steigelmeier. She lived in the Collins and Nevada areas before moving to Ames in 1982. She married Forest Kitchen on Feb. 3, 1926, at Nevada, and was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church. She retired as the head cook of the Nevada School System in 1970.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Lou Renfeldt of Pilot Mound and Kathleen Davis of Ames; one son, Dean Kitchen of Ames, 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Doris Logan, Rena Peterson and Charlene Cole, all of Nevada, and Bonnie Anderson of Ames.
Visitation was held Monday and funeral services were held Tuesday at Cooper Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
