John Brady, 83, of rural Cambridge, died Friday evening, Feb.9 at the Oak Park Manor where he had been for the past 10 days. He had been ill the past month.

He was born on May 18, 1890 in Des Moines, to Frank and Julia Brady, and had lived in Story county the past 42 years. He was a retired farmer.
Married to Flossie Conkel on November 29, 1916 in Des Moines, he was a member of the United Methodist Church of Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Dale E. Brady of Cedar Rapids, two granddaughters, and a brother, Thomas Brady of Elkhart.

Proceeding him in death were his parents, one brother, three sisters and one daughter.

Funeral services will be held at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Marvin L. Hulse officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
