Flossie Brady, 90 of Ankeny, former Nevada resident, died Tuesday, April 26 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 29 at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Rev. Harold Wagner of the Nevada United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Nevada Cemetery.

Brady was born to George "Emmerson" and Sarah Conkel on Jan. 13, 1893 in Lucasville, Ohio. She was educated in the Lucasville schools.

She married John Brady on Nov. 29, 1916 in Des Moines. They lived in the Ankeny area until around 1935, when they moved to Nevada and engaged in farming. John Brady died in February of 1974. Flossie Brady moved back to Ankeny about four years ago. She was affiliated with the Nevada United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one brother, Wilbur Conkel of Ankeny; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dale; one daughter, Lura; one brother and two sisters.

Friends and relatives may call on the family from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Ryan Funeral Home.
