Michael Loftin, 57, of Gilbert, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at his home in Gilbert.

Mike was born January 26, 1957, in Laurel, Mississippi to John and Eva Jeanette (Dennis) Loftin. He was united in marriage to Kathy Loftin in 1985 in Clinton, Iowa. Mike served in the United States Navy and worked for Amcor Rigid Plastics in Ames for eight years. He was an active member of Arcadia Masonic Lodge #249 in Ames and enjoyed motorcycles, music, poker and traveling. Mike loved the time he spent with all his friends and family.

Mike is survived by his wife Kathy of Gilbert; his sons, Shane Loftin of New Jersey and Kyle Loftin of Virginia; two grandchildren, Kade and Logan Loftin of Virginia; his mother, Jeannette Arledge of Mississippi; three sisters, Debbie Sumrall of Mississippi, Faye Dunshee of Ames and Elaine Bullock of Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his father; and a son, Nathan Loftin.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 5 at Bacon Funeral Home, 1418 Fawcett Parkway in Nevada with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in memory of Mike to be used at their discretion at a later date.
