Stensland rites to be Thursday

Knute Stensland, 79, Nevada, died about 4 p.m. Monday at Mary Greeley Hospital.

He was born at Sandied, Norway, the son of Halle and Borgil Stensland, and has been a resident of the Roland and Nevada area for 22 years.

Mr. Stensland had been a farmer before his retirement.

He married Jennie Hoskins* in 1910 and she preceded him in death in 1949.

Mr. Stensland married Sivrie Kinsey Oct 12, 1955. He was a member of the Nevada Memorial Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sivrie: four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Beach of Nevada, Mrs. Earnest Beach of Zearing, Mrs. Nolen Ostrem, 503 13th St. and Mrs. Edwin Smith, 2721 Luther Drive. A step-son Kenneth Kinsey, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Kala Espevold, Vikkadal, Norway.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jennie; two great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada, with the Rev. Harry Myklebust officiating. Burial will be in Roland cemetery.

Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
