Frank Frey, who has lived on his farm two miles east of Roland the past five years, died Thursday at the university hospital in Iowa City where he had been getting treatment for the last five weeks. His wife and son were with him at the time of his death. he had been in poor health for some time.
The body was brought to Ames and funeral services were held Sunday. A private service was held at the home of a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Lee, in Milford township and a public service at the Adams funeral home in Ames with Rev. Olaf Holen of this place officiating. Interment was made in the Nevada cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Boyd furnished special music at both services.
Frank Montgomery Frey was born at Secor, ill., November 26, 1888, and died at Iowa City April 11, 1940, at the age of 51 years, 4 months and 15 days.
He moved to Iowa with his parents in 1895 and lived in Milford township for many years. Five years ago he purchased the former Handeland farm two miles east and a half mile north of Roland where the family still resides.
He was married to Dora Smith of Ames December 12, 1910. He is survived by his wife and four children, Mrs. Virgil Lee and Mrs. Ralph Brodie of near Nevada, Mrs. Wendell Strother of this place and William who is staying home with his mother. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. H. O. Vail of Sioux Rapids, and four grandchildren, John Lee, Doradene and Dwayne Brodie and David Strother.
