DEATH WEDNESDAY OF MRS. EFFIE BELCHER
Mrs. Effie Elmore Belcher, 78, 1225 10th St., died at the Gilmore Nursing Home at 4:10 Wednesday afternoon. Death was due to a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the Ryan Funeral home with Elder Russell Hage officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.
Mrs. Belcher, a daughter of Jesse and Evelyn Elmore, was born Dec. 4, 1875. She was married to Harry H. Belcher Sept. 25, 1889 in Nevada.
Mrs. Belcher, who had lived in Story county practically all her life, was a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and the Daughters of Union Veterans.
She is survived by 2 sons, Ivan H. Belcher and Henry T. Belcher, both of Des Moines. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Lew A. Larson, 1225 10th St.
She was preceeded in death by her husband and by 2 sons, Jesse and Glen.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. EFFIE BELCHER
Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Elmore Belcher, longtime resident of Nevada, were held Saturday afternoon at the Ryan Funeral home with A. Russell Hagen, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church, officiating.
Two songs "Does Jesus Care" and "Where We'll Never Grow Old" were sung by Mrs. Russell Hagen, accompanied by Mrs. Glen Davenport.
Among the many floral, and memorial offerings, was a memorial offering from relatives for $26 which was given to the Story County hospital as a memorial in her honor.
The casket bearers were lee Alexander, A. C. Larson, Henry Larson, Elmore Mayo, Edgar Sheppard and Clark Stookey.
Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

OBITUARY
Effie Elmore Belcher, who had been in ill health for the past several years, passed away at the Gilmore Nursing home at 4:10 p.m. April 18, 1951.
Mrs. Belcher, a daughter of Jesse and Evelyn Elmore was born December 4, 1872, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She was united in marriage to Harry H. Belcher, September 25, 1889 at Nevada. Four sons were born of this union.
She was preceded in death by her husband and 2 sons, Jesse and Glen.
Mrs. Belcher had lived in Story county practically all her life and was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, The Royal Neighbors, The Daughters of Union Veterans and Our Birthday Club.
She is survived by 2 sons, Ivan H. Belcher and Henry T. Belcher, both of Des Moines, and a sister, Mrs. Mamye Larson of Nevada, with whom she made her home. She is also survived by 2 grandsons, Harry and John Belcher, a granddaughter, Mrs. Ed Sheppard and 1 great grandson, Larry Sheppard.
She will be sorely missed by her family and her host of friends and neighbors.
