From Ames Tri Weekly November 18, 1918

Lynn Wolf, aged five years, was killed by being run over by an automobile on the streets of Nevada Saturday evening [November 16, 1918].

The boy had started with his parents and grandparents to attend the moving picture show. He had preceded them across the street and had then returned to join them. Just after he had stepped off the curb an automobile driven by Byron Dickey knocked him down and ran over his body. The child was taken to a doctor where it was found no bones had been broken. The heavy machine had run over the stomach of the child and he died in a few from internal injuries.

The boy was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Wolf and had but reached the age of five years a week ago today. He had expected to start to school this morning. Mr. Dickey was driving slow and the time of the accident and the boy stepped squarely in front of the machine. It is one of those regrettable occurences that come with life and there can be no deeper regret than that of Mr. Dickey.
