A. Ludwig, Sherman Township Man, Dies
Albert Ludwig, 47, Sherman township farmer, died Monday afternoon [July 24, 1930] from complications which set in following an attack of influenza 19 years ago. Surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ludwig, Nevada, and his wife and two daughter. Funeral services were held at the Ludwig home Wednesday afternoon.
He was born at Hanover, Germany, Nov. 20, 1882. he moved with his parents from Illinois to Iowa in 1894, settling near McCallsburg. he was married to Hazel Morris, McCallsburg, in 1912.
Mr. Ludwig was well known about Story county, having resided either in or near McCallsburg for 36 years.
The funeral of Albert Ludwig was one of the largest ever held in the community. Rev. Watson of Nevada had charge of the services. Mrs. R. A. Nelson and Miss Catherine Craig sang with Mrs. Rasmussen as pianist. The services were held at the home and burial took place in the Nevada cemetery.
