Porter Johnson died yesterday
Porter Johnson died yesterday at the Maurie Borton Nursing Home in Nevada were he had been a patient for the past 10 months.
He was born in Ohio on Sept 12, 1881, and had been a resident at Story County for 70 years. He was married to Lois Winifred Fantz on June 23, 1909 at Nevada. He was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by a son, Lowell, of Nevada, and a daughter, Mrs. R. L. Fausch of Ames. He is also survived by two brothers, Clifton, of Santa Barbara, Calif. and Dwight of Brookings, S. Dak.; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Cook of Des Moines and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister, and his wife, who died in 1927.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. for the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada with burial at the Nevada Cemetery. The Rev. Frank Hladky will officiate.
