From Stevens Memorial Chapel obituary, Ames, Story County, Iowa:

Grant Samuel Wolf, 96, of Ames, passed on to eternal life on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 while a patient at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 10:30 AM at First Evangelical Free Church, 2008 24th St., in Ames with burial to follow at Paton Township Cemetery, Paton, Iowa. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Stevens Memorial Chapel, 607 28th St, Ames.

Grant was born March 1, 1918 on the family farm near Dana, Iowa; the son of Samuel and Lillie Mylenbusch Wolf. Grant graduated from Dana High School in 1936 and married Florence Harris on June 3, 1943 at the home of her parents.

Grant was a farmer all his working days and diligently farmed the family farms of both his and Florence's parents. He was active with both church and community activities and enjoyed helping his neighbors in every way he could. Grant enjoyed woodworking and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He lived by his strong Christian faith and was a member of First Evangelical Free Church.

Grant is survived by his children, Ruth (Ed) Williamsen of Fentress, TX, Leanna (Verlyn) Haahr of Waterloo, and Grant (Rita) Wolf Jr. of Ottumwa; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; daughter, Melva Haman; and a grandson, Duane Williamsen.
