Funeral Services Held Saturday for Mrs. Armstrong

Last rites for Mrs. Emmett Armstrong, 64, beloved Nevada mother who passed away at her home early Tuesday* morning after a ten day illness, the result of a coronary embolus, were held from the home, 432 I avenue, 2:30 p. m. on Saturday afternoon.

The Rev. Joseph M. Kennedy of Central Presbyterian church was in charge of the services at the home and the commital service at the grave, both of which were largely attended by relatives and friends from over wide area.

The home was filled with flowers and the room where the remains lay in state was entirely banked with beautiful floral tributes expressive of the high regard and esteem in which the deceased and her fine family are held.

The casket bearers were Frank M. Boardman, H. W. Dana, John R. Borgen, Jay K. Banks, A. W. Banks and Frank Purk.

The deceased, who was born in Nevada, Nov. 18, 1877, was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lockridge, prominent early day residents. She attended the Nevada schools and Mount Vernon college and was married September 22, 1897 to Emmet S. Armstrong, who survives her.

She is also survived by the following children: Lloyd L. of Salina, Kan.; Lieut. George L., of Quomset, R. I.; Lydia Adams of Ames; John of Nevada; Dorothy Schultz of Nevada; Margaret Jane, who teaches in the Independence schools; Juliet of Salina, Kan., and Jean, at home. One son, Frank, passed away in 1920 at the age of ten years.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jay and Chev Adams of Ames and Stephen Schultz of Nevada. One sister, Mrs. Etta Lockridge Will of Salina, Kan., also survives.

Mrs. Armstrong was an active and long time member of Chapter AM P.E.O. and was member of the Thimble club, a former Nevada social club.

She was woman of fine qualities, deeply devoted to her home and family. She encouraged her family in their attendance church and Sunday school in Central Presbyterian church and took an active interest in the work of the Ladies' Aid society. She had many interests and many friends and she will be deeply mourned both within the family circle and without it by a large number of relatives and friends.
