Native Daughter of Milford Township Died Tuesday at Ames

Funeral rites for Mrs. J. O. Michaelson, 75, who died at her home at 1002 Douglas avenue Ames, Tuesday morning, will be held at the Adams Funeral chapel at Ames, Thursday at 2 p. m. after which burial will be in the Nevada cemetery. The services will be in charge of Rev. A. R. McLaughlin of the Ames Congregational church of which she was a member.

Mrs. Michaelson had been ill for several years and during the past months had been under the care of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Walter Michaelson of Ottumwa.

The deceased, whose maiden name was Josephine Jorgenson was a native of the county, norn on a farm five miles northwest of Nevada in Milford township one of the ten children of Andrew and Anna Jorgenson. Of the other nine children, one brother and four sisters survive.

Married to Jacob O. Michaelson December 22, 1886, they would have celebrated the fifty-fourth anniversary of their marriage on Sunday next. The family home had been in Story county continuously with the exception of a brief period spent in Buena Vista county. For many years the home has been in Ames.

There was but one child born to Mr. and Mrs. Michaelson, the son, Walter, who is now located at Ottumwa.

She is survived ty her husband, the one son, Walter, three grandchildren, a brother, Ocsar Jorgenson of Marathon, and four sisters, Mrs. L. C. Rierson of Nevada, Mrs. Anna Hanson of Roland, Miss Ida Jorgenson of near Fernald, and Mrs. Kate Egeland of Melbourne.
