Services Thursday for Purley Alderman
Purley S. Alderman, 96, 105 South Wilmoth Ave., died Sept. 30 at Riverside Manor Nursing Home.
Services are Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. O.M. Severseike officiating. Burial is in the Nevada Cemetery.
Mr. Alderman was born Oct.. 28, 1878 in Ames. A lifetime resident of this area, he was cook at Kirk's Cafeteria and owned and operated the Sovereign Grill from 1942-1949. Mr. Alderman was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church.
Surviving is a stepdaughter, Mrs. Darrell Freel, 809 Hunziker Drive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena, Nov. 19, 1968, three stepsons, three brothers and a sister.
The body will lie in state at the Adams Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon and evening.
