CHARLES GALEN SORENSEN

Charles Galen Sorensen, 62, of Pleaant Hill, Calif., died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 1985 at Pleasant Hill.

Cause of death was cancer of esophagus.

Mr. Sorensen was born Nov. 23, 1922, at Nevada, Ia., to Lars Peter and Anna Rasmussen Sorensen. he graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1941.

He was married Jan. 27, 1945, at Roland, Ia., to Charlotte Ann Johnson.

Mr. Sorensen resided and farmed during most of his life in Story County, Ia. he spent his last 15 years working in the San Francisco, Calif., area.

He belonged to Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy. in Nevada. Interment will be in Nevada Cemetery, Nevada, Ia.

Survivors include a son, Robert Charles Sorensen of Vacaville, Calif.; four daughters, Sharon Louise Jones of ouston, Tex., Judy Ann Jacobson of Farmington Hill, Mich., Barbara Lynn Tice of Medford, Ore., and Sheryl Lee Crane, Vacaville, Calif.; a brother, James Sorensen of Maxwell, Ia.; two sisters, Mary Jane Kopf of Nevada, Ia., and Joan Cody of Nevada, Ia., and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edward John Sorensen, and a sister, Ruth Marie Sorensen who died in infancy.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday morning until time of the service.
