George Boyd Died in South Dakota
NEVADA--Word was received here Monday of the death of George D. Boyd, native of Story county, at his home at Pierre, S. D. Mr. Boyd died Sunday, a victim of pneumonia. He was a son-in-law of Dr. and Mrs. F. S. Smith of Nevada.
He was born in Story count and as a boy lived at Ames and Story City. he came to Nevada in 1900 to serve as deputy sheriff under his father, the late H. R. Boyd. He remained in Nevada for several years and later worked as a tinner.
He sent to Pierre, S. D., to settle on a claim of land and there in 1911 married Alta Smith, a former Nevada girl, who had also taken up land in the west. Surviving Mr. Boyd are his wife, three sons and a daughter.
