Rose H. Murphey Funeral Monday
NEVADA--Funeral services for Rose H. Murphey sho died at Iowa sanitarium Friday were held from the Morfoot Funeral home Monday with the Rev. Jos. M. Kennedy of the Central Presbyterian church in charge. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
About a week ago Miss Murphey fractured her leg in fall at her home. She was taken to the sanitarium Dec. 20 and was unable to recover from the shock of the injury.
A native of Story county she was born on a farm in Richland township July 14, 1859. She was the fourth daughter of Henry F. and Margaret Palmer Murphey, pioneers who came to Iowa in 1855. When she was two years old the family moved to Nevada where she had lived continuously since then.
After teaching school for a number of years Miss Murphey purchased a book and stationery store which she sold in 1929 because of failing health. She was charter member of Chapter AM of P. E. O. and also a charger member of the Nevada Order of Eastern Star. For many years she had been a member of the Central Presbyterian church.
