Halterman dead, services Friday

John Halterman, 71, Nevada, died Wednesday at 6:50 in the Story County Hospital where he had been a patient for the past five weeks.

Mr. Halterman was born July 18, 1892 in Collins and was resident of Story County most of his life. He married Mable Dodd, March 12, 1913 in Collins. He was a member of the Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, two sons: Wendell Halterman, Roland and Delmar Halterman of Concord, Calif.; three daughters: Mrs. Dale Bock, Oak Park, Ill., Mrs. David Sandzold, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Ed Roshiem, Tama and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

The body will remain at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada until Friday, Feb. 21, noon when it will be moved to the Collins Church of Christ. Funeral services will be in the church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Leslie Zimmerman officiating and the Rev. Hill assisting.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Collins.
