HAZEL MARKLAND BIVENS

Hazel Markland Bivens, 92, of Nevada IA, died Friday, July 1, 1988, at Riverside Manor in Ames.

She was born March 1, 1895, in Story County IA to Clarence Markland and Harriet Dawson.

She was married to Clarence Bivens at Nevada on June 21, 1921.

Mrs. Bivens was a life long resident of Story County and had been a school teacher. She was member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada.

Funeral services were Tuesday, July 5, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Church with Rev. William Ballard officiating. Interment was in Nevada Municipal Cemetery, Nevada.

Mrs. Bivens's survivor's include a son, Gordon, of Ames; a sister, Irene Dobson of Nevada; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in November 1967, and a son, Mark.

Visitation was held Monday, July 4, from 1-9 p.m. at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwyl, Nevada. The family was present 7-8 p.m.
