Gary "Goose" Laverne Ryan was born October 9, 1943 to Irving Laverne and M. Marie (Sickles) Ryan in Des Moines, Iowa. Gary and Susan Ryan were married August 28, 2003. He lived in entire life in the Slater area and thoroughly enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson.

Gary passed away December 20, 2013 at 70 years of age.

Gary is survived by his wife, Susan Ryan, of Slater; three children, Robin Lande, Rick Ryan and Kelli Chamberlain; three step-children, Ryan, James and Jennifer Jo; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Janet Nelson-Reed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Linda.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
