Funeral Services for Late Bert Hitchings

Fernald, Nov. 7--The Morfoot funeral home was filled to capacity with sorrowing relatives, neighbors and friends for the funeral rites of the late V. B. Hitchings on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 3. The services were in charge of Dr. J. O. Simon of Memorial Lutheran church. There were tow songs, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "It is Well With My Soul," sung by a quartet composed ot Mrs. Harold Handsaker, Mrs. Vern Proctor, Howard Hillburn and Everett Fry with Harry Christianson at the organ.

The many beautiful floral offering were cared for by Gilbert Sinn of Marshalltown, assisted by Mrs. C. B. Ned and Mrs. Frank Gerlach. The casket bearers were Ray Chitty, Harold Handsaker, Guy Handsaker, Clarence Hillburn, Marion Gilbreath and Hal McKim. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

Besides all of the immediate family, relatives from away present were Mrs. Charles Hitchings of White River, South Dakota, brother of the deceased, Mrs. Emil Opperman of Baraboo, Wisc., Mrs Cora Poetter, Mrse Edna Poetter, Miss Evangeline Poetter and Harley Schuler of Blue Earth, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schuler and Harley Schuler and Mrs. Fred Honeick of State Center, Mrs. Arnold Edler and Mr. Arthur Edler of Duale, Minn.
