Edwin Davis, son of J. P. and Rose Davis, was born near Cincinnati, Iowa, March 20, 1873, and passed away at his home two and a half miles northwest of Roland, Iowa, at 12:45 the morning of Tuesday, June 28, being 78 years and 8 months old.

At the age of 18, he went to McClain county, Illinois. On January 27, 1904, he was married to Eva Marie Feit at Chenoa, Ill. To this Union, six children were born. They are: Mrs. Ellen Huss, Des Moines, Iowa, Floyd Davis, Nevada, Ia., Mrs. Alberta Campoy, Saratoga, Calif., Orville Davis of the home address, Lawrence Davis, Nevada, Ia., Eldon Davis, Hampton, Va.

He married in Polk county, Iowa in 1913 and then moved to Story county three years later. He spent the rest of his life in Story county.

He spent the time of practically one generation in Story county and was well known and a respected citizen of honesty and integrity.

Besides the children and wife, he will be missed by many other relatives including 3 grandchildren and host of friends who have known him through the years.
