Edward Sampson* died of heart attack on Monday

Edward W. Swanson, 1211 J Avenue, Nevada, died at his home Monday morning at 3:30 after suffering a heart attack. He was 70 years of age and had been ill for the past two years.

Born March 8, 1899 at Mt. Ayr, he was the son of Andrew and Amelia Swanson. He was married to Rebecca Marie Steele, August 26, 1923 at Mt. Ayr.

The Swansons had lived in Nevada for the past 14 years.

He was a member of the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife, Marie, a son Keith of Colo, a daughter, Mrs. Frank Miller of Des Moines; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother Alvin Swanson of Fullerton, Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. Dudley Gillette of Lake Placid, Fla. and Mrs. Robert Foster of Muncie, Ind.

Funeral services will be at the United Methodist Church Wednesday at 2 with the Rev. Azel Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

The Ryan Funeral Home is in charge.
