Richard E. Pierce Nevada man, suffers heart attack, dies
NEVADA - Richard E. Pierce, 1317 5th St., died Thursday* evening at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was 65.
Services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the Ryan Funeral Home here. Elder Earnie Myers officiated with burial in the Nevada Cemetery.
Born Oct 3, 1911 in Nevada to Gilbert and Clara Pierce, Richard Pierce was a resident of Story County most of his life. He was a retired brick mason at the time of his death.
Survivors include three sons: Jim of Denver, Robert of Des Moines and Alvin of Council Bluffs; four daughters: Mrs. Ruth Yocum of Nevada, Mrs. Donna Corbin of Des Moines and Mrs. Beverly Yeager of Nevada; 19 grandchildren; one brother, Ed Pierce of Onawa and three sisters; Mrs. Garnet Hansen of Clear Lake, Mrs. Jean Harmon of Maxwell and Mrs. Genevieve Bergman of Ann Arbor, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one son and a grandson.
