Irene Josephine McKinney
Sept. 21, 1919, to July 9, 2003

Irene Josephine McKinney, 83, of Nevada, died Wednesday, July 9, at Story County Long Term Care, where she had been a resident for the past two years.

She was born Sept. 21, 1919 in Sauk Center, Minn. She graduated from Sauk Center High School. She married Glen McKinney on April 1, 1964, in Minneapolis, Minn. She retired in 1985 from Bourns in Ames as an inspector in quality control. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting and sewing.

Survivors include her husband, Glen of Nevada; a step-daughter, Judy McKinney of Huxley; and a sister, Illa Leonard of Minneapolis, Minn.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral mass will be held Friday, July 11, at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Lutheran Church with Father Jon Seda officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the lounge of Memorial Lutheran Church. Burial will follow the services in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Irene's name for the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, handled
arrangements.
