Mrs. Erb, wife of Mr. Jacob Erb, from near Ames, died last week*, after an illness of only between one and two days. She was one of the early settlers of this count, highly respected, an earnest, christian, and her loss will be severely felt by neighbors and friends as will as her devoted family.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Caroline (Reed/Reid) Erb died on 26 March 1874.
