Mrs. Kent died in Louisiana

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Kent, 86, a longtime Gilbert resident, died Saturday* at Raceland, La.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home. The Rev. H. C. Lumpkins of Gilbert will officiate. Burial is to be in Gilbert Cemetery.

Mrs. Kent had made her home with a daugher, Mrs. Tom Woodruff, at Lockport, La., in recent years. She survives along with another daughter, Mrs. Marian Barger of Fairhope, Ala.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her husband, Bert Kent*, a former hardware merchant and banker, preceded her in death 1958

During the years she lived in Gilbert, Mrs. Kent was active in the Congregational church and community activities.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Mary Elizabeth Shipley married Burritt Dewitt Kent, not Bert Kent, as stated. She died on 4 April 1964.
