OBITUARY

Ruth Menzel

McCALLSBURG--Funeral services for Ruth Menzel were held May 14 with a prayer service at the home and services at the Presbyterian church in McCallsburg with Dr. R. M. Shipman of Ames officiating.

Pallbearers were William C. Allen of Nevada, Dale Fincham, Owen Fincham, LaVerne Osmundson, Harlan Tett and Marion Woster of McCallsburg. Floral gifts were in charge of Cleo Tett and Mrs. Walter Rasmussen. There were also memorial gifts.

Music was furnished by Mrs. F. E. Nail and Miss Catherine Craig who sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Abide With Me" with Mrs. Herbert Eddy as organist.

Burial was in Nevada cemetery

Ruth Isabelle Menzel, daughter of Frank and Minnie Menzel was born Dec. 15, 1894, on the Menzel farmstead ner McCallsburg and died May 11 at her home in McCallsburg at the age of 60 years.

She spent her girlhood days on the farm and attended the nearby rural school and became a member of the Johnson's Grove Methodist church.

In 1921, with her father and brother Fred, she moved the McCallsburg. After their father's death in 1928, she made her home at first with her sister, Mrs. Frank Boelk of Fernald and for the last 20 years with her sister, Mrs. William Tett in McCallsburg where she died after a three months' illness.

She is survived by her sister, Pearl (Mrs. Wm. Tett of McCallsburg); Leila (Mrs. Frank Boelk of Fernald), and brother Ray Menzel of Nevada. Preceding her in death were her parents and brother Fred.

Attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Holcomb of Indianola, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fincham of Rockford, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Lester Garber and Mr. and Mrs. George Singer of Graettinger and relatives and friends from Nevada, Zearing, Colo and Fernald.
