Mrs. Kathryn H. Couvault, 87, formerly of 1257 Orchard Dr., died at Riverside Manor Nursing Home Wednesday night.

There will be a memorial tribute Jan. 20 at 10:15 a.m. during the regular morning service at the First Christian Church. Interment of the remains will be a t later date the Iowa state University Cemetery.

Born Aug. 21, 1885 in Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Covault graduated from Ohio State University in 1909 and came to Ames in 1917. She married Clarence H. Covault, May 21, 1912 in Columbus.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, the League of Women Voters, Faculty Woman's Club, the Ames Woman's Club and the American Assn. of University Women.

Surviving are a daughter, Evelyn C. Thompson, 1204 10th St.; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Nov. 11, 1969, three brothers, and two sisters.

A memorial fund for the Ames Public Library has been established. Gifts may be left at the Library or the Union Story Bank and Trust Co.
