Services held for Faye Sorensen, 78

Faye Sorensen, 78, of Ankeny died Tuesday, June 15, at Sunny View Care Center of heart failure.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 18, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cambridge.

Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada.

Obituary

Faye Sorensen was born in Nevada to Byran and Mildred (Beets) Mulanix and lived on a farm near Maxwell most of her life. She was united in marriage with James Sorensen on April 20, 1941 in Nevada. She was homemaker and a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church and Nazareth Ladies Aid. She moved to Des Moines in 1989.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, James, in 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Ann Leonard of Des Moines and Mary Jo Frazier and husband Robert of Ankeny.

Memorials may be made to her church. Grandview Park Funeral Home in Des Moines handled arrangements.
