Lloyd LaVerne Shickell

Lloyd LaVerne Shickell, 69, of 3440 41st Ave So., St. Petersburg, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 17 at Story County Hospital in Nevada.

Born July 26, 1910 in Nevada to Frederick and Male Cork Chickell, he married Eunice I. Spivey Feb. 18, 1933 in Nevada.

Mr. Shickell had been a lifelong Nevada resident before moving to Florida in 1976. He was a retired meat cutter and a member of the Nevada United Methodist Church.

Curvivors include his wife, Eunice; three sons, Kieth Duane of Apple Valley, Minn., Lowell LaVerne of Viroqua, Wis., and Murray Gene of Nevada; one brother, William Shickell of Nevada; one sister, Leilia Grimes of Green Casle, Ind., and six grandchildren.

Services will be Monday, Aug. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Nevada United Methodist Church, with Rev. Harold Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevaa. Cards and memorials may be sent to 1025 M Ave., Nevada, Iowa.
