Sylvia Barker rites Wednesday

Mrs. Sylvia E. Barker, 73, Nevada, died in her home Saturday afternoon.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Marvin L. Hulse officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Mrs. Barker was born Oct. 12, 1897 to Arthur and Martha Hemstock. She lived in the Story County area all her life.

Survivors include four sons, Howard, Larry, Kenneth all of Nevada, Loren, Roland, three daughters, Mrs. Janette Thompson, Des Moines, Mrs. Lois Thompson, Colfax, Mrs. Martha Greutzmacher, Ames; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Moran and Mrs. Bernice Haje both of Ft. Lauderdale; and 16 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and her husband, Pat.
