ELMORE CHARLES MAYO

Elmore Charles Mayo, 68, of Nevada, died Sunday, June 17, 1984, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

He was born July 25, 1915, at Sac Center, Minn., To Forrest Charles and Ethel M. Elmore Mayo. He was educated in the Nevada Schools and graduated with the Class of 1936.

He was married to Elva Dooley at Bethany, Mo., May 2, 1942.

Survivors include his wife, Elva; two sons, Michael Mayo of Harington, Kan., and James Mayo of Nevada; two daughters, Susan Sutherland of Des Moines and Kathleen Tiffany of Nevada; a sister, Gwendolyn Larson of Nevada; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the Nevada United Methodist Church with Rev. Ernest Larson officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.

Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will be at the funeral home Tueday evening.
