Sylvia Irene Haynes Frye

Sylvia Irene Haynes Frye, 84, of Nevada, died on Saturday, Feb. 5, at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the First Christian Church in Nevada with Pastor Brice Hughes officiating. Burial followed in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Sylvia was born on September 20, 1920 in Nebraska to William T. and Viola (Guge) Haynes. She was a 1941 graduate of Nevada High School. On July 1, 1942, she married Eldon Lester Frye in Lancaster, Missouri. Sylvia was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Nevada, American Legion Auxiliary. Sylvia enjoyed cooking and bowling.

Sylvia is survived by 2 sone, Virgil W. Frye of Slater and Eldon L. Frye of St. Charles, IA; a sister, Mildred Love of Ames; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eldon on January 8, 2003, and 3 brothers Vergil, LaVern, and Barney Haynes.

Memorials may be directed to the family. Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada was entrusted with the arrangements.
