OTTO LOUIS POEHLEIN
Otto Louis Poehlein, 90, of Solon IA, formerly of Nevada IA, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 1988 at University Medical Center at Iowa City of heart failure.
He was born May 2, 1898, to Henry Poehlein and Magdalene Wagner.
He was married to Pauline Shaeffer July 31, 1927, at Des Moines IA.
Mr. Poehlein was a meat salesman for Iowa Packing Co. he lived in Nevada for 50 years and moved to Solon in 1986.
He was a member of the Solon United Methodist Church. He was a Mason for over 50 years.
He was a veteran of World War I.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Nevada with Rev. William Ballard officiating. Interment will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery, Nevada.
Visitation will be held at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy., Nevada, on Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Masonic services will be held Tuesday evening, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home by the Nevada Masonic Lodge No. 99.
Mr. Poehlein's survivors include his wife, Pauline Poehlein of Solon; two sons, Vernon Poehlein of Solon and Paul Poehlein of West Des Moines IA; a daughter, Mary Peterson of Warren OH; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Magdalena Poehlein.
