Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.
Raymund W. Archeske passed away on August 28, 2013 at Bethany Manor in Story City, at the age of 86 years. A Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City. Burial will follow at the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Raymond was born on November 9, 1926 in Des Moines, IA to parents Walter and Marie (Wade) Archeske. He married Ruby Allie on September 9, 1951. He worked over 20 years as a custodian for the Roland-Story Community Schools. He was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church and lived most of his life in Story City. Raymond enjoyed his grandchildren, and liked to go golfing, fishing, and making use of his woodworking skills.
He is survived by his children: one daughter, Donna (Steve) Wright of Story City and two sons: Mark Archeske of Story City and Dave Archeske (Dawn Beisner) of Story City; five grandchildren and a sister, Carolyn Wilson of Victorville, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruby; and two brothers: Ralph and Don “Gus” Archeske.
